Waterloo Regional Police said a man driving on Manitou Drive just before 2:20 a.m. lost control of his car. The car flipped and came to rest with its wheels over the edge of Schneider Creek. When police arrived, the driver had gone. The Guelph Police canine team was brought in to search for the driver, who was arrested soon after. He was charged with being impaired, dangerous driving and failing to remain at the scene.
