GUELPH (Oct 11, 2008) -- Black-eyed cow skulls were strewn over a Guelph intersection yesterday after a macabre incident. Nobody was injured in the accident, but several hundred kilograms of animal innards and assorted skeletal remains from many cows were desecrated when a Rothsay transport truck, en route to a rendering plant in Dundas, Ont., made a sudden stop. The green tarp over the truck couldn't stop the animal matter from spilling out. The truck driver and a colleague tossed skulls and entrails into a second truck while Guelph Police directed traffic around the scene. Absorbent material from an emergency spill kit was used to dam the flow of blood heading for a storm sewer. The transport truck had stopped to avoid hitting a car.
