Fairest of the Fair Pageant, MD Lash Factor, 90210
Last night was a big, big deal at the Putnam County Fair. The Fairest of the Fair Pageant ended at precisely 9:36pm. That's never been done before. Cynthia Strong, Gina Hooper, Lee Wray and I were thrilled to be able to make that happen for many reasons. And the new Fairest of the Fair is Chelsea Tabors from Monterey High School. As I understand it, there has not been a winner from Monterey for about twenty years. I've posted photos from the night under pictures here on our Magic website. You can also go to my page and click on my myspace link for more photos. There's also a very artsy one of Roach you'll want to see. A big thank you to him for helping me into my dress last night. Jim was working. I could've never done it alone. He deserves combat pay. I think he broke a sweat. Yet he survived. We bonded. And I don't think where the zipper caught my skin will leave any marks. And if it does, I can't see that part of my body anyway.
The best part about last night was when Jim watched the end of the pageant on TV and said, "yeah, you've lost a lot of weight, but look how much larger you are compared to the top five." You've got to love a husband who doesn't hold back. Later on in the show he said I was his trophy wife. And what a big trophy it was. 15 years we've been married this October. Seems longer.
Seems like Tori Spelling won't be on the 90210 new show after all. She was going to get $10-20,000 and episode and her former co-workers were going to get almost twice as much. When she asked for equal pay the CW said no. So now Tori's out of the series, which premieres with a 2-hour special on Sept. 2. This has caused Lee much distress who was hoping for some manner of catfight between and among all of them.
Forgot to mention yesterday, that awesome eyelash conditioner I was talking about is called MD Lash Factor. It really does work. I swear by it. Your natural lashes will grow up to 53% longer. I look like I'm wearing real fake lashes all the time, if you know what I mean. Not drag queen fake lashes. Not that there's anything wrong with that. It's not for kids, but you can get it at Cookeville Pediatrics. Ask for Michelle. She'll tell you what you need to know. You can't just buy it in the store. It's a medicine.
Freaky Dave is at the Fair from 7-9pm tonight. Make sure you stop by and sign up for that four-wheeler. We're giving it away Saturday night. The weather has been awesome.
Friday, August 15 at midnight is your deadline for you online audition for Tennessee Top Model. Click on the Studio Six link on my staff page for details. You might be discovered on September 6 at the Drama Center.
A Cookeville woman has been charged with burglary and vandalism after breaking into a residence -- to take a bath. Officers told her several times to get out of the bathtub and put some clothes on. When she refused, she was wrapped in a blanket and taken to jail naked.

PICKNICKING WITH THE BUGS
In Owensboro, Kentucky, Christy Hart says the Crispy Chocolate Cricket Parfait tastes great. She and her four-year-old son Ian sampled some of the insect goodies as part of the "Picnicking with the Bugs" event, at the Western Kentucky Botanical Gardens. Chef Justin Crandall was called on to do some of the catering. He says it was his first time cooking with bugs, but says his Cricket-and-Potato-Chip Encrusted Pork Loin was surprisingly good.
MAKING MONEY FROM ELVIS
The maker of Barbie is coming out with the first-ever Elvis and Priscilla Presley dolls. The dolls are wearing replica outfits of what the Presleys wore on their wedding day in Las Vegas in 1967. The Elvis doll is dressed in a black paisley print tuxedo with boutonniere and black boots. Priscilla's doll is wearing a gown of white chiffon and satin, with tiara and veil. Mattel's Elvis and Priscilla Barbie Doll Gift Set is on sale at shopelvis.com and Wal-Mart stores. This Saturday marks 31 years since Presley died at Graceland.
or A MILLI VANILLI MOMENT AT THE OLYMPICS
It's another example of China's desire for a perfect Summer Games. There's word this morning that a song sung at the opening ceremony was lip-synched. A ceremony official says the 7-year-old Chinese singer was not good-looking enough for the ceremony. So another little girl with a cute smile was used as a lip-synching stand-in. The ceremony's music director tells Beijing Radio it was quote "in the national interest."
